We are delighted to announce that Catholic Charities Volunteer Medical Clinic is now operational in Washington, D.C. as of September 24th! VIM America has worked with Catholic Charities since May 2019 to help them realize their vision of a free volunteer medical clinic to serve the many low-income residents in their community, with a specific focus on undocumented immigrants who often go without basic or preventive care.

The clinic served 15 patients on their first day of operations. Clinic director Brigid Prosser shared a success story for one of their first patients: “She is a diabetic and could not afford her medications or visits. She had been avoiding a doctor due to costs and her sugars were out of control. Her A1C went from 6 (controlled) to 13. We were able to see her and potentially get her connected to our Medication Assistance Program to obtain meds. It is for patients like her that we exist. Thanks for helping us to help her.”
